Housing instability has reached a crisis point in Long Beach. It is destabilizing neighborhoods, displacing generations of residents, and threatening the future of our community. Relocation assistance is one simple solution to our housing crisis that will give people the financial help they need to have a sense of security, stay in a home, and support their families.
On Tuesday, May 21, the Long Beach City Council will vote on providing relocation assistance to people being forced out of their homes. Here’s a few ways you can take action:
- Contact Mayor Garcia and your City Councilmember to ask for a strong Relocation Assistance Ordinance that will keep people in homes and prevent homelessness.
- Attend the city council meeting on May 21, 2019 at 5 p.m. at Council Chambers (333 W Ocean Blvd) to show your support for strong relocation assistance that gives people the financial help they need to have a sense of security, stay in a home, and support their families.
